As we go about our daily lives, it can be easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everything going on around us. However, it's important to take a step back and remember all the things we have to be thankful for. Here are 10 reasons why we should give thanks every day:

  1. We should be thankful for the gift of life itself. Psalm 139:14 tells us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made.

  2. We should be thankful for our health, which allows us to live life to the fullest. 3 John 1:2 reminds us that God wants us to be in good health.

  3. We should be thankful for our families, who provide us with love and support. Proverbs 17:17 states that a friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.

  4. We should be thankful for our friends, who uplift us and make us better people. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 says that two are better than one, for they have a good return for their labor.

  5. We should be thankful for our homes, which give us shelter and a place to rest. Psalm 90:1 reminds us that the Lord is our dwelling place.

  6. We should be thankful for the beauty of nature all around us. Psalm 19:1 tells us that the heavens declare the glory of God.

  7. We should be thankful for our jobs, which provide us with a sense of purpose and fulfillment. Colossians 3:23-24 encourages us to work at everything with all our heart, as working for the Lord.

  8. We should be thankful for the food on our tables, which sustains us and keeps us healthy. 1 Timothy 4:4-5 reminds us that everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving.

  9. We should be thankful for the forgiveness of our sins, which allows us to have a relationship with God. Psalm 103:12 states that as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

  10. We should be thankful for the many blessings we receive each day, and for the opportunity to be a blessing to others. Ephesians 3:20 tells us that God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.


May your day be blessed with gratitude and thankfulness for the many reasons we have to give thanks. Remember the beauty of life, health, love, friends, home, nature, work, food, forgiveness and the opportunity to be a blessing to others.
